Supercharged Salsa Dip
Appetizer, Diabetic Friendly, Heart Healthy, Ground Flaxseed
Supercharge your salsa with flax and enjoy this quick and easy recipe!
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) your favourite salsa
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) light (5% fat) sour cream
- 1 Tbsp (15 mL) of mashed chipotle pepper in adobe sauce*
- 2 Tbsp (30 mL) ground flaxseed
- In a bowl, combine salsa, sour cream and roasted pepper. Blend until smooth.
- Transfer to serving bowl and stir in the ground flaxseed. Serve with assorted chips, crackers or fresh vegetables.
- *Note: Add more or less chipotle pepper to adjust how hot you would like the salsa.
Yield: 1 cup (250 mL)
Serving Size: 1/4 cup (60 mL). Each serving contains 1 tsp (5 mL) of flax.
